The place of public art in ceramic art

In addition to the sociological integrity of the public sphere, it bears deep traces and meanings of human perspective based on political and social content. Cities carry people's cultures and historical traces. In this context, social, economic, complex, psychological, aesthetic relations are in this moving structure. These are the public areas of the city. Art designed for public spaces (sculptures, reliefs, ceramics, paintings, etc.) İt is possible to place the works in harmony with the environment. Ceramic sculptures and ceramics renew themselves in accordance with today's conditions, as in the past. As part of the space in the past, it transforms the space into a unique space by transforming it into a new meaning. Art in the public sphere reveals the intellectual knowledge and art understanding of people and societies at the level of development rather than a necessity. In the first part of the thesis, based on the concept of art, in the second and third parts, the conceptual approach of public art, the short history and the reflection of art was mentioned. Finally, ceramic art is not an object in squares and parks, and it is integrated with public space and transformed into a critical object that changes the public space. In the last part of the thesis, the establishment of a design center by combining these three areas under a single roof with the establishment of Leather, Textile and Ceramic Design Application and Research Center in the public space given by Uşak University, and the interaction of leather, textile and ceramic with the direct audience the snapshots were transferred from the red mud to the gypsum molds by the photocopy transfer method. The formation, development and application of ceramic art in the historical process through the way of the existence of public art in cities covers all of the thesis. This thesis will provide important clues to understand the importance of ceramic art in the context of public space and art relationship.
