Abstract (EN)

Black elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.), a plant in the form of shrubs and trees, belongs to the Adoxaceae family. Sambucus species can be defined as woody plants that can reach 10 meters tall, have deciduous leaves, and are in the form of shrubs or trees. The fruit of this species is found in clusters, similar to its flowers, and the clusters are approximately 2 mm in diameter, round, have 3-5 seeds, and are purple-black in color. In this study, 8 different commercial black elderberry samples contained sodium (Na), copper (Cu), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), aluminum (Al), boron (B), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), Phosphorus (P) and zinc (Zn) elements were determined using the ICP-OES device. 0.5 grams of sample was dissolved in the microwave by adding 5 mL of 65% HNO3 (nitric acid). ICP-OES validation parameters, precision (%RSD), correlation coefficient, LOD (Limit of Detection) and LOQ (Limit of Detection) were determined.
