Abstract (EN)
transplantation is the gold standard treatment methods for the survival of patients with end-stage liver failure. Although liver transplantation prolongs the life expectancy of patients, it negatively affects the quality of life by causing many biopsychosocial problems (Headache, impaired kidney function, bile leakage, stress, anxiety, mood disorder, inability to participate in social activities and inability to use effective coping methods). This study is a descriptive study to evaluate the biopsychosocial problems and quality of life experienced by patients with liver transplantation. The research was carried out with 40 patients followed up in Hacettepe University Adult Hospital and Gazi University Hospital in Organ Transplantation units between the dates of 01 March 2019-01 June 2020. In the study, "Nottingham Health Profile Scale (NHPS)" were used to evaluate the quality of life of the patients and patient identification form. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews with the participants participating in the research, taking Covid-19 precautions. The patients' NHPS energy level (33,3) and physical mobility (25,0) sub-dimension scores were higher than the social isolation (0,0) sub-dimension scores, NHPS sub-dimensions scores of the participants indicated that the NHPS sub-dimensions the most affect the quality of life of the patients after liver transplantation were energy level and physical mobility. In the study, the internal consistency coefficient values of Kuder-Richardson-21 regarding the sub-dimensions of NSPÖ ranged from 0.687 to 0.879. It was determined that the biopsychosocial problems experienced by liver transplant patients affect their quality of life in all areas of NSPÖ and their quality of life is negatively affected. According to the results of the study, it is very important to know the biopsychosocial problems experienced by the patients after liver transplantation and to evaluate the quality of life of the patients regularly. For this reason, it is recommended to carry out further research with arrangements that will increase and support the quality of life for patients whose quality of life is adversely affected.
