Abstract (EN)

In this dissertation, we examine the narration about Jewish sects in the book Kitâb al-Anwâr wal-Marâqib by the Karaite scholar Ya'qūb al-Kirkisānī (10th century). This study consists of an introduction, three main sections and a conclusion. In the introduction, information is given about the principles adopted in the dissertation and the main modern works about al-Kirkisānī and his book. Afterwards, al-Kirkisānī's life and works and the development of Jewish heresiography in Jewish, Christian and Islamic literature were mentioned. In the first chapter, al-Kirkisānī's information about the early Jewish sects and his criticisms of the sects are discussed in comparison with Jewish, Christian and Islamic works. In the second part, the information and criticisms written by al-Kirkisānī about the medieval Jewish sects were examined by comparing them with Jewish and Islamic works. In the third chapter, al-Kirkisānī's writings about Rabbinism and his refusal to them are discussed by comparing them with Rabbinic sources. In the conclusion part, determinations and evaluations were made based on the subjects mentioned in the dissertation.
