Critiques of character education approaches

We aimed at collecting the critiques of traditional character education theories. These theories are common in the field of education as well as expose to critiques. Our goal is to bring the critiques of these theories together and contribute the scientific investigations in this field.Since our research is resource scanning and review of literature, we used national and international articals, books, thesis, sympozium papers, scientific writings internet sources to build the research and it includes those. We tried to collect all of the critiques related to this subject.We determined the topics by scanning the sources and under the topics we investigate the subject.This research, revealed a lot of inadequacies of the character education theories. Critiques contain nearly all aspects of the theories including core concepts and methods and techniques used in these theories. We hope that the research will fill the gap in this field in Turkey.Key Words: Character, Values, Virtues, Ethics, Moral Education, Character Education
