Abstract (EN)

The objective of this study is to evaluate the clinical situation after the CTS operation. Forthis purpose, the pinch strength, grip strength, Boston symptom & functional score scale & EMG were evaluated both preoperatively & postoperatively. 61 hand of 46 patients that were operated by the same surgeon in Akdeniz University, Faculty of Medical, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology between January 2006 – December 2010 were included in this study. All of the operations were done by mid palmar mini incision, located distally to TCL. Healing was evaluated by EMG, Boston symptom & functional score scale, grip and pinch strength. Significant improvement was determined in Boston symptom and functional scale score, postoperatively. Statically significant improvement was determined in grip and pinch strength postoperatively. After the operation, 83,6% improvement was seen in EMG compared to preoperative results. Significant improvement was seen in grip and pinch strength, Boston symptom & functional score scale and EMG after CTS treatment. But there isn't any. Meaningful correlation between these tests
