Basis of the minstrel tradition in Kars ve Maksut Koca is life, his art and poems in tradition of bard

Âşık Maksut Koca is one of the minstrel who isn?t made research in the field of Minstrel Literature. In our study, Âşık Maksut Koca is life, the characteristics of his art and his Works are introduced . The information which is obtained during our research is evaluated appropriately according to the content of our thesis.In our study it is dwelled upon to minstrel tradition which occurred in Kars, Arpaçay where is the hometown of our minstrel. At the same time, while talking about this tradition, telling poem at random and the relationship between master and apprentice are evaluated. While giving importance to telling poem at random and the relationship between master and apprentice, the important representatives of the tradition are mentioned. We met personally with Âşık Maksut Koca who is still alive during our study.In the conclusion part, by talking about Âşık Maksut Koca is place in the Minstrel tradition, the Minstrel tradition in Kars is studied.
