Dud cheque and its regulation in Turkish law

Abstract (EN)

A cheque; is a bill that partakes of money order, subject to form conditions that are stated in the laws, can be issued only via a bank and must be paid with its presentation. In modern societies cheque is quite advantageous for economic life and its usage has been gradually increasing, which is also significant for commercial relations as well. Law number 6728, "The Law on the Amendment of Certain Laws for the Improvement of the Investment Environment" entered into force on 09.08.2016 to strengthen the faith in the cheque, increase its use and prevent the drawing of the dud cheque. So, with this law, important changes were amended in the Turkish commercial code and cheque law, and the cheque has become up-to-date. In the consideration of these amendments, the concept of the dud cheque has been analysed in this examination.
