Abstract (EN)
Individuals born and raised in the society bring with them some needs, desires, wishes and fears from the moment they are born, and there are some constitutions and developments around them that they cannot understand or make sense of. Mankind has developed some beliefs, in other words rituals, in order to find a solution to all these, to get away from fears and anxieties, and to relax spiritually. Therefore, these rituals have an important place among the people and have survived since prehistoric times and have been passed down from generation to generation. Folk beliefs, which are among the study subjects of social and human sciences, are also an important phenomenon for the discipline of folklore. The concept of belief, which has a broad semantic framework, gains a narrower meaning and content in folklore studies. In particular, he tries to examine the archaic elements from the past religions within the widespread religious tradition in a society. In this study, beliefs that were accepted by the local people in Kastamonu, lived in the past and many of them still live today, were compiled. In the study, many beliefs about transition periods, sky and natural events, animals, trees, water, iron, fire, hearth, supernatural beings, household and household goods, calendar/time, human limbs, fertility, auspiciousness, evil eye, evil eye and hospitality. sample has been found. Identified beliefs were examined and analyzed according to contextual theory.
