Abstract (EN)

Architectural products are socio-spatial structures that contain the basic actions and needs of human life depending on cultural values, social dynamics, economic structure and technological developments. In order to meet the changing or newly emerging needs of human beings over time, an act of design on the axis of social conditions and quality of life is the main concern of the production of architecture. An architectural product that cannot meet the needs in the face of social changes also carries the risk of moving away from the purpose of designing it for the benefit of society. However, the structures that have lost their function are the social, architectural, economic, technological, etc. of the period. They continue to exist as components of architectural heritage and cultural structure because they reflect their characteristics on the physical plane. Today, such structures are adapted to current urban dynamics by being re-functionalized in line with different needs for new activities and forms of action and at the point of transferring values to the future, and participate in urban life in the context of cultural and historical sustainability. In this context, the study, which is based on the idea that buildings should be protected and managed appropriately, as well as transforming into "symbols" over time by being documents in the social memory, aims to deal with the purposes of use and design approaches of buildings that have lost their identities, within new functions, with a comparative analysis method aims.
