A research for exploring the impact of strategic alliances on innovation performance in firms follow the exploratory and exploitative innovation strategy

In recent years, strategic alliances have become increasingly interesting research in both international and national literature, and it is also observed that organizations frequently use this form of collaboration. In this study, a relationship based on the structure, rationale and performance of strategic alliances is formed from the resource-based view. From this point view, the aim of this thesis is to trying to determine the impact on innovation performance of strategic alliance. Also in this study, it is trying to determine which innovation strategies play a role in the relationship between strategic alliances and innovation performance. In this context, as a result of in-depth interviews with R & D managers of eight multinational Turkish capital firm from the same sector; which strategic alliance forms are used and the impact of these forms on innovation performance. Research findings that organizations use at least one of the strategic alliance forms of equity and non-equity alliances and six of the eight business have positive effects on innovation performance. In this research, quantitative data on innovation performance could not be obtained from all companies and the research was carried out determine perception for qualitative method.
