Abstract (EN)

This thesis aimed to investigate the effects of respiratory exercise, as well as cervical and thoracic manipulation (High-Velocity Low-Amplitude - HVLA) on spirometric values, pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation in male individuals aged 25-50 with kyphotic posture. A total of 75 male participants volunteered for this study. Using the randomization method, three groups were formed, each consisting of 25 individuals: a group receiving cervical and thoracic manipulation along with respiratory exercise. Prior to the application, demographic characteristics of individuals (age, weight, height, body mass index, presence of chronic diseases, information on regularly used medications) were evaluated. Participants' respiratory parameters, pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation values were measured before, during, and after the application using the MiniSpir mobile spirometer. Additionally, kyphotic posture angles were measured before assessing respiratory exercises. The respiratory exercise group performed only respiratory exercises, while the cervical and thoracic manipulation groups received chiropractic HVLA manipulation along with respiratory exercises three times a week by the same physiotherapist.
