The effect of Islamic financial literacy on people's consumption behaviors

The aim of this study is to measure whether there is any effect of Islamic Financial Literacy on the consumption behaviors of individuals. For this purpose, a total of 403 students who are in the undergraduate, graduate or doctoral process without any distinction of university were surveyed online and the data obtained were analyzed with the SPSS program. According to the findings obtained; Individuals who have attended a lecture, conference or event in the field of Islamic Finance differ from those who have not attended any event in terms of Islamic Financial Literacy. In addition, when the relationship between the department they study and the level of Islamic Financial Literacy is analyzed, it is seen that the Islamic Financial Literacy level of the individuals who advance their academic studies in the field of Islamic Finance / Participation Banking is quite high compared to the individuals who are educated in other departments. Finally, according to the results of the analysis on whether there is any relationship between the consumption behaviors of individuals and the level of Islamic Financial Literacy; It has been observed that there is no positive and significant relationship between individuals' Islamic Financial Literacy levels and consumption behaviors.
