Abstract (EN)

The contribution of social entrepreneurs to the social, economic, cultural and environmental wealth of a country has become increasingly recognized. The concept of social entrepreneurship, which is a combination of social and entrepreneurship concepts, has emerged to find solutions to social problems. Social entrepreneurship is the whole of social value submission, social value creation, provision of social transformation, finding solutions to social problems and chasing opportunities. The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of personality and entrepreneur personality traits on social entrepreneurship orientation and also to reveal the relationship between personality traits, entrepreneur personality traits with the social entrepreneurship orientation and sociodemographic variables. Within the scope of the study, data was collected via questionnaire method from 1067 students studying in the second, third and fourth grades of the Business Administration and Economics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the universities located in TR63 region by using the "Five Factor Personality Traits Scale" by Goldberg (1992), "Scale of Entrepreneur Personality Traits" by Bozkurt (2005), "Social Entrepreneurship Orientation Scale" by Nga and Shamuganathan (2010) and questionnaires comprising of sociodemographic questions. Factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were performed on the data obtained by questionnaire form and hypotheses and sociodemographic questions in the research were tested. As a result of the research, it was detected that personality traits and entrepreneurial personality traits have a significant effect on social entrepreneurship orientation. With the additional analyzes performed later, significant differences between the personality traits, entrepreneur personality traits and social entrepreneurship orientation of university students were revealed in terms of sociodemographic characteristics. Finally, the results of the research were compared with the results of other studies in the literature.
