The analytical solution of the role of using personal protective equipment to prevent the work accident-case studi̇es in cargo transportation

Safe and healthy working environment depends on the control of environmental risks, the prevention of occupational accidents and occupational diseases. To control environmental risks, collective safeguard precautions must be given priority. Personnel protective equipment must be stepped in, when technical precautions, collective protection, or work organizations cannot stop risks. Therefore, it is necessary to set up a cognitive adaptation algorithm. The motivation of the employees and the attitude of the decision makers play an important role in providing a safe and healthy working environment. This situation can vary based on sector.This study focuses on the perception of analytical solution for preventing occupational accidents by using of personal protective equipment (by workers and managers in the highway). In the first part of the study, the concepts of occupational health and safety were discussed. The development of occupational health and safety in Turkey, the effective use of personal protective equipment and the reasons of personal protective equipment were mentioned.In the second part of the study, the concepts of cargo transport, the development of cargo transport in Turkey and the World, cargo transportation and the properties of transport which are prohibited were discussed.Presentation of the place where the case analyzed, the workflow, the tasks and responsibilities of the employees, the used personal protective equipment and their characteristics were mentioned in the third part of the dissertation. In the last part, it has been done a survey whıch measures the perception of the relationship between the employees who carry package, cargo in a facility and the attitudes of employers about using the personnel protective equipment and work accidents.It was found that the attitude of usage of personnel protective by employee, the perception of the relationship between motivation and accident, how employers think about the relationship between occupational accidents and PPE usage, how their decision reflects as a priority, the link between the institutionalization level and usage of personnel protection equipment.
