Abstract (EN)
In this study 95 cases were reviewed retrospectively whom referred to Dicle University Medical Faculty (DÜTF) Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology between February 2005 and April 2010 diagnosed as müllerian abnormality.Müllerian channels form a sketch of the female reproductive system. During organogenesis process müllerian channels undergo differentiation steps that results with the formation of fallopian tube, uterus, cervix and upper side of vagina. Any mistake in these differentiation steps may induce malformations. Müllerian anomalies, agenesis of the uterus and vagina, uterus and vagina duplication or minor abnormalities of the uterine cavity may show themselves in different ways, such as.The true prevalence of congenital uterine anomalies in the general population is not known exactly, the most common uterine anomaly, uterine septus (90%), bicornuate uterus (5%) and uterus didelphys (% 5) follows it respectively. All information of patients were collected from hospital files. All of the cases were examined transabdominally or transvaginally with the Toshiba 140A and Voluson 730 Pro 4D ultrasound device. The cases were referred to our clinic with these complaints; 34 patient because of (35.80%) primary infertility, 21 patient (22:20%) because of pelvic pain, 11 patient (11.60%), because of habitual abortion, and 5 patient (5.26%) because of acut abdomen . In 35 (36.84%) cases uterus septus and in 15 cases (15.78%) uterine horn detected in our study . In 15 patients with uterine horn also detected uterus unicollis unicornis.Müllerian channel anomalies diagnosis often delayed due to many different clinical findings. After diagnosis of the patient, type of treatment varies according to the type of abnormality and appropriate treatment should be chosen according to each patient. As a result, Mullerian anomalies, cases may present with different clinical findings. These cases can be diagnosed easily with gynecological examination and ultrasound examination and appropriate treatment can be applied to appropriate patients.
