A field survey in Orhangazi district aimed at identifying management and organization problems of SMEs

This study aims to determine the structure and problems about management and organization of SMEs in Orhangazi district, considering the contribution of SMEs in Orhangazi district of Bursa province to the city and country economy are undeniable in today's economy where small and medium-sized enterprises are the cornerstones of production and economy. In this context, the general structure of SMEs has been examined and then the demographic and commercial structure of Orhangazi district has beenanalyzed. After that, in the third chapter, management and organization problems of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the Orhangazi district have been examined via a field study which is applied to small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the district.As a result of the studies and the findings that are obtained, it has been observed that the management and organization problems that are being experienced by small and medium-sized enterprises in the world are similar to the problems of the enterprises which are established in Orhangazi district.After the literature review, the theoretical background of the thesis was prepared, and then again by using the literature survey and the preliminary interviews which are made in the field, the survey questions are prepared and the questionnaires are filled in via face-to-face interview method and then they have beenevaluated. When the findings were evaluatedit is concluded that, small and medium-sized enterprises face various problems in Orhangazi district while operating decision-making mechanisms, using the delegation of authority, and managing human resources, andthese problems are primarily increasing the problems of the production process of small and medium-sized enterprises, having production unit-based employment within the organizational structure, experiencing troubles while employing qualified labor force and the lack of growth targets of the business owners.
