Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of web-based training based on the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) on gaining exercise behavior in coronary artery patients. Material and Method: The study was conducted semi-experimentally between September 2019 and December 2021. The population of the study consisted of coronary artery patients who applied to İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Center Cardiology Polyclinics. The sample of the study consisted of 114 patients, 57 of which were experimental and 57 were control. Patient Information Form, Exercise Change Phase Short Question Form, Exercise Change Process Scale, Exercise Decision-Making Balance Scale, and Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale were used to collect data. The data were collected online at the first interview, face-to-face and subsequent interviews. The experimental group was allowed to access the educational content via the website. At the end of the 1st and 3rd months, they were asked to fill in the scales on the website as an intermediate and post-test. Arithmetic mean, percentage distribution, t test in independent groups, t test in dependent groups, chi-square, Greenhouse-Geisser test, Mc Nemar test, Friedman test, ANOVA and Cronbach Alpha tests were used to evaluate the data. Results: In the study, it was determined that after the web-based exercise training given to the experimental group, the patients progressed in the exercise change stages (p=0.000). It was observed that there was an increase in the mean total score of TTM scales (p=0.000). It was determined that there was an increase in the perception of benefit and a decrease in the perception of harm in the sub-dimensions of TTM scales (p=0.000). Conclusion: It was seen that web-based exercise training based on TTM given to coronary artery patients was effective in gaining exercise behavior. It can be recommended that healthcare professionals use web-based exercise training based on TTM while training patients. Key Words: Exercise, nursing, coronary artery, transtheoretic model
