A total of 326 patients who were diagnosed with CAD at least three months ago, who were 18 years of age and older, had no mental illness and communication problems and who volunteered to participate in the study constituted the sample of the study. In order to collect data, the "Patient Information Form" andthe "Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)" were used. The data were collected by face to face interview technique by the researcher. Before the interview, the patients were in formed about the research and their consent was obtained. The statistic alanalysis of the data obtained from the research was done by using the SPSS for Windows Version 22.0 package program, and the Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used. The mean PSQI score of the patients who participated in the study was 8.27 ± 2.98 and the sleep quality was poor. Most of the patients (88.3%) had poor sleep quality and 11.7% had good sleep quality. It was found that the quality of sleep of the elderly, women, married people and the patients with low levels of education, and economic status were worse. In addition, patients with MI who had a diagnosis period of 4 years or more, who had other diseases other than CAD, smokers, and had high blood pressure were found to have worse sleep quality. In conclusion, it was determined that sleep quality was low in CAD and some socio-demographic and medical features of the patients had a significant effect on sleep quality. It was suggested that nurses should train the individuals with CAD to maintain normal sleep patterns, control factors affecting sleep quality and reduce sleep problems.
