Abstract (EN)

With the development of technology, it is on the agenda to develop more effective and competent working methods in the execution of conservation processes like every discipline. HBIM (Historic Building Information Modelling), which is an adaptation of the BIM (Building Information Modelling) working method, which is widely used by the Architecture, Engineering and Construction sector (AEC) today, where the pre-, during and post-implementation processes of new buildings are supported by parametric digital models, making project and building management processes more efficient, is currently a popular research area of conservation partners and academic circles. The integration of BIM into conservation processes is an important phenomenon in terms of accelerating conservation project production and documentation processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency in practice. The development and dissemination of this phenomenon, which is referred to as HBIM in the conservation literature, through HBIM object libraries in accordance with the conservation context is expected to shape the future of the conservation discipline. In this regard, in this study, besides the necessary literature on the concepts of BIM, HBIM, object libraries, a HBIM object library creation process has been carried out. The aim of this study is to test the creation of a parametric object library in the HBIM environment within the scope of the "guillotine window", an architectural element frequently encountered in the Early Republican and Late Ottoman housing pattern in Istanbul, and to discuss the possible contributions and innovations that these and similar libraries will bring to the conservation and restoration project processes.
