Karaç Döö Epic of Kırgız (An examination and text)

Epics not only cover the mythologies of nations, their social lives, and all the material and spiritual values in between, but also constitute an example of the aesthetic and artistic values of nations. It also shows the evolution of the oral tradition from past to present. Because they are oral narratives, it is inevitable for them to interact from one society to another, from one nation to another. Researches on Turkish epics also prove this. The Kyrgyz, one of the oldest societies in Central Asia, have preserved their national values, identities and religious creeds together with the old religious remnants, and have succeeded in transmitting them from generation to generation, despite many important political and social events from time immemorial to the present. Kyrgyz's ideas about the world, beliefs, traditions, customs; They have been kept alive in epics as common cultural elements from historical depths until today. Karaç Döö Epic, which is included in the Kyrgyz epics, contains elements specific to the epic traditions of the Kyrgyz. The Epic of Karaç Döö gives messages about the unity and solidarity of the Kyrgyz and tells about a struggle for independence that includes historical truths. In the study, after the introduction part which gives general information about Epic and Kyrgyz, there is a part about Kyrgyz epics and Karaç Döö Epic. In the last part, there is the conclusion and the transcription of Karaç Döö Epic and its translation into Turkey Turkish. In addition, the Historical-Geographic Finnish method, which is among the text-centered folklore theories, was used. The most important work of this method is the world-famous folklorist Stith Thompson; It is his work named "Motif Index of Folk Literature". The motifs of the Karaç Döö epic were classified in accordance with the motif index in this work, and a general comparison was made by determining the similarities and differences of the motifs frequently encountered in the epic with other Kyrgyz epics.
