Evaluation of Kırklareli city center children's playgrounds in terms of landscape design principles

The rate of settlement in urban areas is higher today. In this case, the need for open spaces in urban spaces is increasing. In the city, open spaces such as picnic areas, recreation areas, green areas and children's playgrounds should be frequently included. Like adults, children need to go out into the open to relax. First of all, there should be areas where they can play freely, made using structural and herbal materials, safe and harmless, within the framework of health and health. The research material consists of children's playgrounds in the central district of Kırklareli. There are 64 parks in the city center and a total area of 76,537 square meters. The study sites evaluated within the scope of the study were randomly selected among the 10 neighborhoods that make up the borders of the center in order to show positive and negative examples of children's playgrounds in terms of location and landscape design applications throughout the city center. In line with the design criteria, examinations were made and the "area observation form" was filled out for each area and the current conditions of the children's playgrounds were revealed with it. Structural and vegetative elements were taken into consideration while making evaluations for the purpose of the study. Children's playgrounds established on topographically colored and naturally beautiful lands are important in terms of supporting children's physical development and the variety of games included in different activities. The city, where urban development is rapidly increasing, should be designed in line with more conscious and accurate planning criteria than today in terms of children's playgrounds, and a landscape design should be made in which the topography and the use of the area are used in the right direction, taking into account the location selection and housing proximities.
