Abstract (EN)
Objective: In this thesis study; it was aimed to investigate the relevance of the Overactivity in Persistent Pain Assessment (OPPA-TR) Scale for the Turkish population and the effectiveness of its clinical use. Method: The study was conducted with 160 patients with chronic pain. Study data were collected between March 2021 and August 2021. Patterns of Activity Measure-Pain (POAM-P), the Short Form of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21), the Global Pain Scale (GPS) and the Overactivity in Persistent Pain Assessment (OPPA-TR) Scales were used to evaluate the patients. Internal consistency and test-retest analyzes were applied to determine the reliability of OPPA-TR. Similar criterion validity and confirmatory factor analysis were used to evaluate the validity of the OPPA-TR. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. Results: As a result of the internal consistency analysis, it was found that the scale had high internal consistency (Cronbach α = 0.82). The reliability of the test-retest results was found to be excellent (ICC = 0.92). As a result of factor analysis, the single factor structure of OPPA-TR was confirmed. In the scale validity analyzes, statistically significant low-strong negative-positive correlations were found between the OPPA-TR total score and the "avoidance", "overdoing" and "regulating" sub-parameters of the POAM-P (p<0.05). There was a low level of positive and statistically significant correlation between the OPPA-TR total score and the DASS-21 "depression", "anxiety" and "stress" sub-parameters (p<0.05). There was a low level of positive statistically significant correlation between the OPPA-TR total score and the "pain", "feeling" and "total" sub-parameters of the GPS (p<0.05). Conclusion: As a result of the adaptation study of the Overactivity in Persistent Pain Assessment to Turkish language and culture, the scale was found to be valid and reliable. Key words: chronic pain, overactivity, scale, validity, reliability
