Coronary artery disease risk assessment scale development study in individuals with cronic diseases

Purpose: This study aimed to develop the "Coronary Artery Disease Risk Assessment Scale in Individuals with Chronic Diseases". Material and Method: After the draft scale was prepared, the study was conducted with 250 patients with chronic diseases hospitalized in the internal medicine service of a university hospital in Ankara. Test-retest was performed with 30 patients. Data were collected with the "Participant Introduction Form" and the "Coronary Artery Disease Risk Assessment Scale in Individuals with Chronic Diseases". During the scale development process; The steps were followed: literature review, determining the format for the measurement method, creating an item pool, consulting expert comments, pilot application with the scale shaped according to expert comments, applying the scale to the target sample group and finalizing the scale as a result of validity and reliability analyses. Data analysis was done in SPSS-27 program. AMOS- 26 program was used in confirmatory factor analysis. Findings: The KGI coefficient of the scale items was found to be 0.86, and the KMO coefficient was found to be 0.712 as a result of factor analysis. The final version of the scale includes 16 items and 5 sub-dimensions. Sub-dimensions; Factor 1 is named "risk due to medical monitoring", factor 2 is "risk due to physical activity", factor 3 is "risk due to addiction", factor 4 is "risk due to nutrition" and factor 5 is "risk due to harmful habits". Goodness of fit values; RMSEA = 0.076, CFI = 0.957, IFI = 0.958, TLI = 0.945, NFI = 0.908, GFI = 0.927, SRMR = 0.055. The Cronbach alpha value of the scale is 0.727. Result: "Coronary Artery Disease Risk Assessment Scale in Individuals with Chronic Disease" is a valid and reliable scale for Turkish society in terms of measuring the risk level.
