Âşık traditionals Şemsi Yastıman of field

Turkish folk literature consists of texts which reflect customs and traditions, allkinds of mentality, lifestyle of Turkish society. The poets grown up in public make a huge contribution to Folk literature custom. Folk music has an important place in Turkish folk literature. The significant representatives of folk music are minstrels and wandering dervishes. Kırşehir minstrels are known as wandering dervish. An important name who continues Minstrelsy tradition is Şemsi Yastıman. One of thirteen cities of Cenrtal Anatolia Region, Kırşehir has kept Minsrelsy tradition alive throughout history, raised a lot of minstrels and poets. Şinasi Yastıman's folk songs, that has an importance in minstrelsy tradition, are significant works which reflect Kırşehir customs and traditions. In this study, we try to identify the folkloric elements in Şinasi Yastıman's poems by giving information about Şinasi Yastıman's life, art, works and formal analysis of his works within Kırşehir minstrelsy tradition. Our study consists of five sections. In the first section of our study, the wandering dervish concept is given, wandering dervish concept within the historical process and living conditions of wandering dervishes are referred. In the second section, by mentioning some information related to ahi-order, information about rise of ahi-order in Anatolia, its aim, basic principles, primary resources and life of Ahi Evran are discussed. In the third section, minstrel and minstrelsy concepts are given, information about Kırşehir minstrelsy tradition and general information about folk poets of Kırşehir are given. In the fourth section, Şemsi Yastıman's life, personality, works, poems and formal analysis of his poems are examined. In the fifth section, folkloric elements included in Şemsi Yastıman's poems are identified. The study is closed by giving localwords, idioms, frequently used proverbs and local words, Kırşehir prayers, curses in addition to unpublished poems written by Şemsi Yastıman, the interview with the son of Şemsi Yastıman's son Sinan Yastıman,the books published by Şemsi Yastıman Saz(a stringedinstrument) House and photos of Şemsi Yastıman in the appendices part.
