Turankoy village in the context of cultural changes

This study aims to analyze the cultural transformations of Bosnian immigrants who settled in Turankoy village, which was established in 1885 in the Kestel district of Bursa, by migrating from the Krajina region located in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Resarche undertook the analysis of Bosniak immigrants 133 years after migration, with sprecial reference to their integration to Turkish lifestyle, identity construction, traditional and religious behavior patterns, dimensions of social integration referring to living space-based cultural transformation. During the resarch of cultural changes and process of adaptation to the Turkish society, quantitative, qualitative and inductive research methods were used. The framework of the research was drawn by giving theoretical explanations about migration, culture and identity concepts and theories; also contention between immigration, integration, assimilation, second generation was mentioned. A survey of the literature on Bosnian immigrants living in Turanköy and the obtained situation analysis were carried out to evaluate the findings of field research related to cultural elements change and collective integration processes.
