New directions to the Qur'an (Sample of İslamic journal)

The Supreme Creator valued human beings and addressed them by offering revelation. Allah's guidance to His servants through revelation is for their guidance and happiness. The Qur'an has informed people about everything and asked them to read itself and meditate on in order to reach this information. In addition to the recitation of the Qur'an, it is of great importance to understand and transfer it to life. No matter what period and geography Muslim scholars live in, they first look at the Qur'an in order to solve the problems they encounter in the fields such as faith, worship, morality, social life, science, culture, economy, medicine etc. Efforts on what the Qur'an says to today's interlocutors or how we should understand the Qur'an in the context of the current problems of the islâmic world and the course of humanity continue both in exegetical studies and in academic and social periodicals. In this study, the journal of islâmiyât, which was published between 1998 and 2007 and followed with interest in academic circles, will be examined in terms of the different expansions it brought to the problems related to contemporary islâmic thought and the new approaches it brought to the fore in the field of tafsir, and it will be tried to determine what kind of differences it revealed from the interpretation styles in the tradition. The study is important in terms of determining the new expansions of islâmic thought in Turkey in the context of interpretation of the Qur'an, showing the changes in the socio-cultural context and the differentiation in interpretations, and analysing the results of these in terms of interpretation methods.
