The consept of "basirah" in Qur'an

The word of "Basirah" is derived from the Arabic root word of "بَصَرَ". The word of "بَصَرَ" means to see, to know, to intuit, common sense, witness, sense of seeing, prof and understanding etc. In terminology the word of "Basirah" is described as the ability of the heart illuminated by divine light to see the truth. The body eye sees the image of things. The heart sees the truth and the inner side of things. Philosophers have called it "theoretical mind". Sufi scholars expressed this power as "the eyes of the heart". Basirah is the light of heart. The heart is able to see the truth by means of this light. In the first chapter of this study, the concept of "Basirah" has been defined and it has been reviewed in literature. The definition of the concept has been examined in terms of its lexial meaning and its meaning in terminology. What it means in the religious sciences and Basic Islamic Sciences has been examined in the literature review. In the second chapter, the definition and deep analysis of the concept of "Basirah" from the point of view of Qur'an has been made. The definition of the concept of "Basirah" in the Qur'an has been examined in terms of form and meaning. The deep analysis has been gathered under three titles according to its subject, object and its predicate and each of them has been investigated in detail.
