Concept of Rahmatan Lil'alamin in the Quran and its implications in a pluralistic society in Malaysia

The topic of the research is "The Concept of Rahmatan Lil'alamin in The Quran and Its Implications in A Pluralistic Society in Malaysia". The purpose of this research is to investigate Quranic verses related to the concept of Rahmatan Lil'alamin, as well as analyze commentators' interpretations and evaluate the concept's reflections in Malaysia. There are three sections in the thesis: an introduction, three main sections, and a conclusion. The introduction section addresses the subject, importance, technique, and sources of the research. The concept of Rahmatan Lil'alamin in the Quran is discussed in the first chapter. This chapter contains the concepts of mercy, the realm, Rahmatan Lil'alamin, and the Prophet Muhammad's mercy throughout his life. The second chapter discusses Malaysia's plural society's historical and ethnic structure, as well as the country's government system; government relations with religion; cultural diversity in Malaysia; and interaction in plural societies. The third chapter discusses the issues that arose following Malaysia's adoption of the Rahmatan Lil'alamin concept as a national policy. Furthermore, some suggestions have been made in this chapter regarding changes that the Malaysian government should make to its policies in order to avoid misunderstandings about Islam.
