Abstract (EN)
The Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEM) is a research project that monitors and analyzes entrepreneurship trends around the world. GEM studies are also conducted in Turkey and reports are published. GEM reports reveal the differences between the global entrepreneurship culture and Turkey's entrepreneurship culture. Global entrepreneurial culture, especially in the US and Europe, encourages entrepreneurship, innovative ideas and risk-taking. In Turkey, however, the nascent entrepreneurial culture is just gaining momentum as many people find it safer to work in traditional lines of business. As noted by TEC, the increasing entrepreneurial culture and number of entrepreneurs in Turkey requires an examination of the global perspective and the dimensions of competitiveness in the international market. In this context, KOSGEB, which provides training, financial, technical and consultancy support to entrepreneurs in Turkey to realize their ideas, is important. In fact, this research aims to draw attention to the importance of KOSGEB, especially considering the support it provides to entrepreneurs who have problems in finding financial resources. In line with the aforementioned, the aim of the study is to examine the global entrepreneurship literature from a holistic perspective, to emphasize the importance of the concept of global entrepreneurship that attracts the attention of the whole world and to analyze the development status of entrepreneurship in Turkey on the axis of published global entrepreneurship indices. For this reason, the parameters affecting GEM entrepreneurship are analyzed comparatively with the average of Group B, where the Republic of Turkey is located. SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) was preferred as the methodology for this analysis.
