Abstract (EN)

In this dissertation the relation between corporate entrepreneurship and firm performance was examined regarding the benefits of corporate entrepreneurship and intensive competition in the hotel sector. In the first parts of this dissertation general explanations of entrepreneurship and corporate entrepreneurship are given. Then based on data obtained from four and five star hotels in Turkey, the effects of corporate entrepreneurship on financial and non- financial performance were analized. In this study, corporate entrepreneurship is discussed in five dimensions, i.e. innovativeness, proactiveness, risk taking, organizational renovation and aggressive competitiveness. Hotel enterprises? performances are studied regarding financial and non-financial performance. Regression analysis was applied in order to test the hypothesis. Regression analysis revealed that proactiveness, innovativeness and competitive aggressiveness have positive and significant effects on the financial and non-financial performance of hotel enterprises. It is also pointed out that other dimensions of corporate entrepreneurship such as organizational renovation and risk taking do not have significant effects on financial and non-financial performance.
