The effect of corporate governance activities on business performance: An application in the BIST Corporate Governance Index

Within the scope of the research, the effect of corporate governance activities of businesses operating in Turkey on business performance has been examined with the help of financial ratios. In this context, the research consists of four parts. In the first part; The concept of corporate governance and its applications in Turkey and in the world are discussed. In the second part; financial analysis methods are discussed. In the third part; There is a literature study on corporate governance in the international and national field. In the fourth chapter; The effect of corporate governance activities of businesses operating in Turkey on business performance has been revealed with the help of financial ratios. In the research, the financial data published by 32 companies traded in the BIST Corporate Governance Index was used. As a result of the research, it has been revealed that the corporate governance activities of the enterprises operating in Turkey do not have a positive effect on the business performance.
