An analysis of the belt and road initiative's repercussions in East Turkestan from the perpevtive of regional development, political hegemony and international relations

This thesis aims to discuss the strategic importance of East Turkestan and its reflections in this region from a multidimensional perspective within the scope of the "One Belt, One Road Project", which is at the center of the global strategic and economic expansion of the People's Republic of China. Project; By examining it in detail in terms of regional development, political hegemony and international relations, it will comprehensively examine the effects of the One Belt, One Road Project on regional dynamics, as well as its positioning within the international community, and the socio-economic and political effects of the said policy on the people of the region. Our review will reveal how regional development strategies were shaped with the implementation of the One Belt, One Road Project in East Turkestan, and how the region's rich natural resources and strategic location were integrated into the initiative. At the same time, it will be analyzed what kind of political hegemony China is trying to establish with this strategic move and what kind of a "soft power" policy this creates in terms of international relations. Our thesis will discuss the impact of the One Belt, One Road Project on the ethnic, cultural and political structures in East Turkestan and its discussions in the international community, thus discussing the development scenarios and political future of this strategic region, which is located at the intersection of great powers. In addition to regional development, the study will examine in depth the transformation of East Turkestan within the framework of the One Belt, One Road Project and the depth the transformation of East Turkestan within the framework of the One Belt, One Road Project and the effects of this transformation on international relations and power politics, focusing on the political and cultural dimensions of the One Belt, One Road Project. Our thesis will be based on policy documents, international relations literature and academic studies on the region, using qualitative analysis methods. In addition, the views of the One Belt, One Road Project and academics specialized in East Turkestan will be included in the thesis, thus contributing to the subject from various disciplines and a comprehensive literature review will be presented.
