Abstract (EN)
Many different building materials have been used in construction, which is one of the greatest indicators of civilization from the first moment of history to the present day. In recent centuries, the most widely used of these building materials is concrete. Shelters and various structures that serve humanity are built with this building material. The importance of scientifically researching such an important material from various perspectives increases day by day. The thermal behavior of concrete can make the structure risky, especially during the construction of structures such as dams, nuclear power plants, and bridge abutments that need to be built in huge sizes. This thermal behavior is caused by the cement material that gives the concrete its binding properties. The reactions that occur during the combination of cement with water cause the release of high amounts of heat in the concrete. Therefore, it is important to control the increasing temperature in the concrete. Within the scope of this study, three mass concrete samples with dimensions of 90x90x90 cm with the same mixing ratios were prepared. The first of these samples was not subjected to any cooling process. The second sample was placed in a wooden mold and cooled by a straight pipe passing through the center of the wooden mold. The third sample was cooled by a turbulator placed in the pipe. Temperature changes after concrete pouring were observed with 7 thermocouples placed at certain points of the wood concrete mold before concrete pouring. In the experimental study, thermocouple measurements of 3 samples were recorded on the computer at 1-minute intervals for 48 hours. The temperature changes at certain points of the 3 samples were compared with these recorded data. In this regard, the effect of the turbulator placed in the pipe on the temperature change in the mass concrete sample was examined. In this study, a new approach will be tried to be brought to the temperature control of mass concrete, which has become increasingly important in recent years.
