Abstract (EN)
The aim of the PhD study is to determine the reservoir rock properties of the Sayındere Formation, which is examined in the field and in the well data of the North Adıyaman oil field, defined within the 12th region in Southeastern Anatolia, using geomechanical parameters, and to compare and interpret the fracture data measured on the surface and in the well so as to correlate it with other oil fields in the Adıyaman region. In this thesis, detailed investigations were conducted on the Campanian aged Sayındere Formation, which is the target unit in the outcrops and depths to obtain the fracture outputs, and the fracture data in the outcrop were evaluated together with the core, log, and DST. In some of the examined cores, oil development along with recovery was observed in Drill Stem Test (DST) operations performed in units additional to oil signs and known target levels in the Sayındere Formation. In this examination, seven faults that contributed to the content of the reservoir rock characteristics were detected within the study area. The Sayındere Formation, represented by limestone, clayey limestone, and marl lithology, has been defined by three different facies, S1, S2, and S3, in previous studies. They are carbonate mudstone (S1), bioclastic packstone (S2) and porous calci turbidite (S3) facies rich in organic matter. The S3 facies, which has a relatively high oil content at the upper level of the Sayındere Formation, continues until the bioclastic packstone, which is the uppermost part of S2 facies. In this thesis, it was determined that the low fold frequency, high asymmetry, and high thickness of the S3 facies of the Sayındere Formation in the oil field geological structure have a positive effect on oil production. Therefore, in the asymmetric role areas of the wells planned to be drilled, directional drilling should be initiated on the top sections of the folds and their extensions, where the Sayındere Formation S3 facies is the thickest. In such cases, the absence of the cementing effect of the oil well through calcification results in productive fractured reservoir properties. It has been determined that the direction of calcitization that may negatively affect the reservoir quality is K700B.The three-way pressure values and the cohesion coefficient (value) that form the productive crack system in the reservoir rock levels are calculated individually, and these values are (Shmax horizontal, Shmin horizontal, sigma vertical, value is 0.85 and above). Using these values, the threshold energy stress analysis (Tocrit) value was determined at each level where the crack occurred, and regression was performed with the production values. In the final stage of the study, the wells were reclassified according to lithostratigraphic correlation and the movement of the block to which they belonged. For each tectonic session, 5 separate regression values were obtained between the production values and the number of cracks under threshold energy stress, respectively (0,57; 0,62; 0,71; 0,63; 0,56). According to the results, R2 = 0,71 was obtained as the square of the highest regression in the tectonic session of the reverse fault rising block regime. In other words, when choosing a well location, it is beneficial for the large-scale block part of the well to be a reverse fault rising block to increase the possibility of oil discovery by cutting more and more efficient cracks during drilling. The relationship between the geomechanical analysis of the discontinuities in the Sayındere Formation in the Northern Adıyaman field and the oil production in the wells was evaluated within the scope of the tectonic setting and correlation was in this perspective made with the neighboring oil fields.
