Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on Ottoman coins minted in North African countries, examining their production, typological features, and historical significance. It analyzes the inscriptions, materials, minting locations, decorative elements, and the roles these coins played within the monetary and cultural systems of the Ottoman Empire in North Africa. The study is structured into three main sections: • The introduction defines the subject, its significance, scope, literature review, and methodology, and provides general information about the mints located in Egypt, Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia. • The first chapter consists of a catalogue, in which the coins are organized chronologically according to their minting locations. Each specimen is examined in detail. • The second chapter presents a comprehensive analysis of the materials, mints, decorative elements, and inscriptions of the coins under study. Ultimately, this study offers a scholarly contribution to Ottoman numismatics by analyzing not only the coins themselves but also the inscriptions, forms, ornamentation, compositions, and iconographic meanings of the coins produced in North African mints
