The effect of leadership style on dynamic capabilities: A research on Western Mediterranean marble enterprises

The concept of leadership, which is based on the existence of humanity and has been extremely influential in the life, development, and emergence of positive or negative events for thousands of years, has kept its currency in every environment and in every time period. Leadership style emerges as a very effective factor in the development, success and progress of the enterprises in the relevant sector. Leadership understanding in businesses directs all kinds of strategies and policies of companies. The aim of all companies in the market is to gain competitive advantage, to make optimum profit and to obtain optimum benefit. In this context, whether the dynamic capabilities can be used, which is a system that enables the product, production process, marketing strategies and some other elements to be changed consciously in the market and business environment, gains a dimension according to the leadership understanding and management philosophy. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to examine the effect of the leadership style adopted in the enterprises on the dynamic capabilities of the enterprises. In this context, using the survey technique, data were collected from 112 exporter marble companies registered with the chamber of commerce and industry operating in the provinces of Burdur, Isparta and Antalya in the Western Mediterranean region, and the obtained data were analyzed through SPSS 26.0 and Smart PLS programs. Percentage and frequency analyzes were made by entering demographic data into SPSS 26.0 program. Demographic data were entered into the SPSS 26.0 program and percentage and frequency analyzes were made. Regarding the purpose of the research, in order to determine whether the leadership style has an effect on dynamic abilities, it has been analyzed with the SmartPLS structural equation model. As a result of this analysis, it has been seen that leadership style has an effect on dynamic capabilities. With this result, it can be said that the aim of the research has been achieved.
