Hazardous health behaviours seen among high school students (İzmir city,Çiğli province sample)

Healthy inviduals are needed for healthy generation.Ahealthy invidual is expected to be in harmony physically,emotonally,mentally and socially.Youths efforts for showing and proving themselves during this period affect their wholelife with acquiring right or wrong attitudes and habits.With this study ,it is aimed to determine the health-related perceptions ,attidues and risky behaviours of high school students. The study consists of two parts.In the first section on the basic concepts of health services and risky health behaviours which seen among high school students are examined.In this context,dietary habits,physcal activities ,sexually transmitted diseases,violance and suicide,road safety,mortality,morbidity,habits and addictive substances,use of cigarette and tobacco products,use of alcohol and other substance abuse are discussed.In the second part,a field search has been used in orderto determine the revised information.In this study,the survey research method has been used. From this research we tried to determine the attitudes to risky health behaviours and basic health-threatening habits of high school students.These habits are listed as smoking habits,alcohol addiction and narcotic addiction.ThE findings of the study Show that more than half of the students,%53.8 haven't been educated about harms of smokin;%39 of the students haven't attended any programs about the harms of alcoholic drinks,and %48.6 haven't been educated about the harms of narcotic substances. Study sample was applied in two schools in the same area.There was no significent difference in risky health behaviours between students.It is thought to obtain a different conclusion with extending the sample and performing it in different regions Keywords : Risky/ hazardous health behaviour, High school students
