Abstract (EN)

After discussing Eskiyapar's place in North-Central Anatolian archaeology, by researching during Assyrian Trade Colonies and Old Hittite Kingdom periods (BC. 1950-1500 Middle Bronze Age- BC. 1500-1200 Late Bronze Age) the cultural, political, and economic relationships with 16 archaeologic centers in the surroundings, all archaeological and philological data were evaluated in this context. Comparisons were made with archaeological data of the major settlements in the region e.g. Boğazköy, Alaca Höyük, Hüseyindede, İnandıktepe, Boyalı Höyük, Fatma Ören, Doğantepe, Dündartepe, İkiztepe Maşat Mound, Oymaağaç and Oluz Mound, the place and importance of Eskiyapar in this region were discussed. The transition from the 3rd to 2nd Millennium BC, one of the important problems of regional archaeology, was evaluated in light of the data presented by Eskiyapar regarding the cultural continuity and development process. It can be said that the results and findings from Eskiyapar, which have a cultural key role in the region, made a lasting impact on the archeology of the region. Another important aim is to exhibit the transition period from the Colonial Age to the Old Hittite Age in Eskiyapar with the help of archaeological materials. The continuity phase of the Assyrian Trade Colony Age in the geography where Eskiyapar is located was evaluated as a whole for the region in the light of Eskiyapar data and provided support data for other settlements in the region. On the other hand, this study provided a guide for the studies to be carried out within the scope of North-Central Anatolian archaeology, moreover, the important settlements explored in Çorum, Çankırı, Tokat, Samsun, and Amasya regions were handled within the scope of Eskiyapar data and this provided complimentary, regenerative and more importantly analytical results for the archaeology of this period in our target region. These neighboring cities' cultural and geographic communication network was presented to the archaeology world through current resources.
