Ma'mûratü'l-Azîz Newspaper Explanatory Index and its assessment (1885-1886)

Ma'mûratü'l-azîz Newspaper, which started its publication on October 5, 1883, has been one of the long-lasting newspapers published in Anatolia. Since it was the first newspaper of the province in which it was published and took the name of the province (Elâzığ), this newspaper has a special importance in terms of publication history of Elâzığ. Ma'mûratü'l-azîz Newspaper continued its publication periods despite the interruptions and has been published until 1935 after the proclamation of the Republic. After the alphabet reform, Ma'mûratü'l-azîz Newspaper continued its publication under the name El'aziz. In terms of witnessing the last period of the Ottoman Empire and the founding period of the Republic of Turkey, Ma'mûratü'l-azîz has the feature of being an important source for the studies to be carried out in these date ranges, as well as for the studies to be carried out on Elazig and Eastern provinces. In this study, an annotated index and evaluation of the 75th issue of the Ma'mûratü'l-azîz Newspaper which published in 1885-1886 were made. With this study, an annotated index and evaluation of the news, articles and advertisements in the newspaper were made, and the index and evaluation of the publications in the Ma'mûratü'l-azîz Newspaper about the political, social, economic and cultural developments in Elazig and surrounding provinces, especially in the Ottoman Empire period, were mentioned.
