Investigation of aggression and socialization levels of Mardin province high scholl students according to sports doing status and some demographic features

The aim of the study was to determine whether the socialization levels of students studying in high school and their aggression tendency differ according to the sports they do. The population of the research consists of the 1036 students in public high school of Mardin, Turkey in the 2019-2020 academic year. While 586 of the high school students in the study group consisted of those who regularly do sports, 450 of them are students who did not participate in sports activities inside or outside the school. In the study, the five-point likert-type scale of "the socialization scale" developed by şahan and the 5-point Likert-type buss-Perry aggression scale which was adapted to Turkish by Madran were used. After obtaining the necessary permissions from the Provincial Directorate of National Education and the parents of the students, the survey data was carried out by the researcher. As the result of the findings, it was observed that there was a negative correlation between aggression tendencies and socialization levels in students who do and do not do sports ands ports was not make a significant difference to aggression tendencies. However, it was observed that doing sport had a positive effect on the level of socialization. The effects of parameters such as gender, school type, class, parental education level, family in come level, weekly sports duration, professionalism status, sports age and sports branch on socialization and aggression were examined and the statistical results of the findings were discussed.
