Abstract (EN)

The current study investigates the relationship between father involvement in childcare and men's gender role conflict. The study provides a theoretical framework that discusses the significance of father involvement in child-rearing and its potential entanglements with gender roles. The various dimensions of father involvement, such as positive engagement activities, warmth-responsiveness, and control were also included in the study. 244 fathers from 23 provinces of Turkey participated in the study. Father Involvement Scale, Child-Rearing Questionnaire, and Men's Gender Role Conflict Scale were used to collect data. The findings indicated that father involvement and gender role conflict were significantly correlated. However, the relationship between gender role conflict and father involvement's warmth-responsiveness dimension was insignificant. The findings also highlighted the significant relationships between various demographic variables, gender role conflict, and father involvement. These findings underscore the importance of addressing gender role conflict to promote active father engagement in childcare activities.
