Abstract (EN)

Among the foundations of Islamic morality, the Holy Quran can be considered first, and the Sunnah can be considered as complementary to theology, Sufism, fiqh and Islamic philosophy. In order to make a broad definition of morality, philosophical ethics, that is, Islamic moral philosophy, is required with the addition of theology, Sufism and fiqh, which are the products of Islamic thought, on the basis of religious morality. In this regard, especially Islamic moral philosophy is an important field to make sense of and solve moral issues. In Islamic moral philosophy, our moral studies will be around the works written on morality. These works we have categorized: 1. Supporting moral works in the light of moral theories, 2. The first philosophical moral works developed within the tradition of spiritual therapy and spiritual medicine, 3. Detailed, schematic and systematic moral works. In this regard, Maverdi's work titled Edebü'd-dunya ve'd-din, which we count among the auxiliary texts and moral works, appears as the most important source related to the category of religious ethics. In the work, "mürüvvet" stands out as the important concept of Maverdi's thought system. Although mürüvve, defined as moral competence, covers all the subjects in Edebü'd-dunya ve'd-din, we tried to think around the conditions of mürüwwe that Maverdi specifically lists: 1. Conditions of mürüwwe regarding one's own person (chastity, decency and security). ), 2. Conditions of intercession regarding people other than oneself (Müâzare, Müyâsera ve İddal). In our study, we tried to understand its use in al-Mawardi and its place and importance in the literature, with the aim of bringing muruwwa back to its active place in the field of Islamic moral philosophy.
