Mazhar-ı Envâr ve Keşf-i Esrâr (Examination-text-directory)

The importance of Sufi works among the sources of Old Turkish Literature is known by everyone. Mazhar-ı Envâr ve Keşf-i Esrâr, which is the subject of our study, is a mixed manuscript in verse and prose with religious-sufistic content. The work, which is registered in Topkapı Palace Library Safety Treasury number 1294, was written in 1754 and no information about the author was found. In our study, the work is introduced in detail and the transliterated text is given. The work, which has integrity in terms of subject, talks about the worlds, especially the world of examples (Misal Alemi), on which there is not much work. The author, who used legends in his treatment of the subject, included a total of 17 legends in his work. It is a supporting and illustrative source regarding the existence of every world of legends and examples. In our study, the verse parts in the work and the hagiographies that make up all the prose parts were examined and their importance in terms of Old Turkish Literature was tried to be emphasized.
