Abstract (EN)
In the 21st century, art has been reshaped through media and communication technologies, reaching all segments of society through mass communication. Thanks to humanity's extraordinary advances in science and technology, art has opened up new areas for itself and created fundamental changes in our perception of life through the media. Media, whose influence is felt in every aspect of our lives, has reached all segments of society, creating new cultural values through visual images and shaping the future. Artists, who have made significant contributions to these developments, have become part of this change and development themselves by using digital technology to produce art. While the technological process brought about by these developments determines the field of artistic creation, the transformative power of this effect on the artist has emerged as an important phenomenon in art. As a result of this process, the relationship between the media and reality has been questioned, and the effect of the new situation that has emerged on the artist's perception of production has been investigated through the example of an earthquake. This study aims to question the effects of virtual reality created through the media on art, artists, and society in the context of visual perception through the relationship between the media and art. While questioning the effects of the media on the structure of the network society, the influences on artists who feed on this ground can be read through the works they produce. Additionally, the ways in which artists of the 2000s express themselves, their thought and questioning structures, their own goals, and societal values can be examined.
