Abstract (EN)
This research aspires to examine how media content affects anxiety state, which is considered a pathology in an industrial society, in a psychoanalytic perspective. Media makes feel its power strengthened and keeps influencing people day by day. Sustaining the consumption cycle seems infeasible in a society that is steered into consumption, leading to anxiety. Individuals who try avoiding alienation and make a place inside the society seeks to consume advertised products, goods and services on social media. In this study, a cognitive and theoretic explanation of the anxiety is provided, and also consumption and consumption culture concepts are explained.
