Sufi elements in the life and poems of Mehmet Abdulkadir Keçeoğlu (Yaman Dede)

Yaman Dede (Mehmet Abdülkadir Keçeoğlu), a lover of Allah (c.c.), the prophet (pbuh), Mevlânâ and Mevlevî poet, was born on July 17, 1887 in Kayseri/Talas to a family belonging to the Orthodox Greek Church. His father is Yuvan Efendi, a yarn merchant, and his mother is Afurani Hanım. Keçeoğlu, who completed his primary education at the Greek Orthodox School, graduated from Kastamonu High School with first place in 1907., which he started in 1909, in 1913 and of he started working as a lawyer. After 1931, he was appointed as a teacher at Üsküdar Greek Mixed Primary School. He taught in various schools until his death. Mevlânâ became a Muslim in 1942 under the influence of Celâleddi-i Rûmî (öl .1273) and Mesnevi. After this, he began to be known by the pseudonym "Yaman Dede" by his teacher Ahmet Remzi Akyürek (öl. 1944). Yaman Dede, who taught Literature and Persian at the Istanbul Higher Islamic Institute in 1961, died in Çamlıca on May 3, 1962. He was buried in Istanbul/Üsküdar, Karacaahmet cemetery. Regarding research, Yaman Dede used his Sufi views in the context of a topic in his verse works or letters, and did not try to explain them directly. Sufism is not a matter of knowing Sufism; He summarized it with the sentences 'it is a matter of hearing and being' and explained that our main purpose in this world is knowledge of Allah. He used the concepts of tahakkuk, which is evaluated within the scope of ma'rifat, sign and knowledge, and tahalluk, which is the educational dimension of Sufism, in this context. This thesis differs from other studies in that it is the first comprehensive study in the academic field.
