Mehmet Şemseddin Ulusoy Misbâr-ı Şemsî (examination – text)

The writer copy of the literary work named Misbâr-ı Şemsî which belongs to Mehmet Şemseddin Ulusoy and compiled in 1931 has been tranferred into modern alphabet with transcription. While examining the literary work, the period of writer's life, writer's own life, his literary aspect and literary works, his own declarations and the other works which were written about the issue before have been considered and presented with the main lines. The Misbâr-ı Şemsî which is poetical-prose work has been examine in terms of its internal and external structures and the features about its form and content have been stated. The literarry work composed of poetical dates of demise and short life stories have been discussed as a "vefeyâtnâme" ( the literary works includes life of famous people who passed away). In the introduction part of this study, the detailed information has been given about the types of life stories , the works of vefeyâtnâme and the art of chronogram. Thus the place and importance of vefeyâtnâme and art of chronogram in Turkish literature have been discoursed and also the position and importance of Mehmet Şemseddin Ulusoy's literary works in our culture and literature history have been presented by discussing authorship of vefeyâtnâme and his historian personality. When the literary work of Misbâr-ı Şemsî ,which belongs to Mehmet Şemseddin Ulusoy who is one of the significiant representative of the Religious and Mystic Turkish literature in the last period and also the most productive author in Bursa with his 62 literary works, it is obvious that his work gives important information about the sociocultural life of his period, his religious life and his opinions about İslâmic mysticism. It is anticipated that this study is important with regards to both classical Turkish literature history and Religious- Mystic Turkish literature and Turkish mysticism history and examining this literary work will be able to fill a gap in this field.
