Abstract (EN)
The main objective of this study is to determine the effects of the urbanisation on the natural factors in Mezitli, the central district which is located in the west part of Mersin, and accordingly, to develop their commendations for the use of new urban areas. For this purpose, to determine land use suitability, appropriate areas along with residential areas are recommended for densely tourism activities, forestry and agriculture surrounding the urban fabric by utilizing Multi-criteria Analysis. The techniques of analytic hierarchy findings based on opinion of the experts working for the accredited institution are considered to determine and weight of criteria. Subsequently, the land use suitability maps are created by utilizing the GIS techniques within the scope of the method applied.
