The professional deformation of the teachers working at vocational high schools and precautions that will be taken by the school management

In our country vocational high schools are the most widespread schools that give professional education. These schools have been set up according to the aims of Turkish National Educational system in order to make students have knowledge and skills and to train individuals specialized in their professions. The biggest share in achieving the goals in these schools belongs to the directors, teachers and the students. The importance of the teachers and directors who spend time with students, share knowledge, guide actively and let them have a profession in obvious. In this research the professional deformation of the teachers working at vocational high schools and the precautions that will be taken by the school direction have been searched and the attitudes of the directors and students that effect the teachers? deformation have been brought out. In this research before starting the field study the literature has been reviewed and the professional deformation of the teachers and the precautions that will be taken by the school direction have been defined. The findings obtained by asking open ended questions to the teachers have been organized by taking professionals? views and a questionairre has been prepared to see the effect of directors? and attitudes on teachers? performances. The questionaires have been applied to 436 teachers working at 20 vocational high schools with in the borders of Bursa, Osmangazi. 12 of these questionaires are not evaluated because of the mistakes that have been made. The research has been made with other 424 teachers left. The questionaires have been evaluated by SPSS programme, after that the findings of the research about the professional deformation of the teachers working at vocational high school and the precautions that will be taken by the school management have been interpreted at the discussion section. Result and suggestions for decreasing the teachers? professional deformation can also be found at this part. The most important result is that students having education at vocational schools and directors? attitudes have an important effect on teachers? professional deformation.
